Journey to the Stone Age: Year 3 Butser Farm Trip

We are excited to share highlights from our Year 3 trip to Butser Farm earlier this week, where students were transported back to the Stone Age! This engaging experience allowed them to participate in a variety of hands-on activities, deepening their understanding of early human life.
During our visit, the children had the opportunity to try their hands at:
● Wattling: They learned the ancient art of weaving branches to create sturdy fences.
● Chalk Carving: Students expressed their creativity by carving designs into chalk, a material commonly used in prehistoric art.
● Clunching: They discovered how to shape and use clunch, a type of chalk used in construction during the Stone Age.
The trip was not only educational but also a lot of fun! The children were fully engaged and enthusiastic, sharing laughter and learning as they explored the rich history of the era.
