St George’s Day

By Heidi Summers

Yesterday, it was St George’s Day and the children at New Haw Junior School had the opportunity to dress up. Lots of children participated, wearing their club uniforms.

It was a very enjoyable day. The Brownies and Rainbows shared how they got their badges and sashes and told us about their camping adventures. The Cubs and Scouts also told us what they do at their clubs and about some of the games that they play.

In hymn practise, we all enjoyed singing ‘God Save the Queen’ which is the national anthem and in the morning, we found out some interesting facts about St George. Did you do anything to celebrate?
