Top ten!

Excellent results!

Yesterday, the summer 2016 Key Stage 2 (i.e. year 6) results for all primary schools across the country were published.   As many of you are aware, the exams taken by the children in May were the first which tested against the new National Curriculum, and were much more challenging than in previous years.  We are therefore delighted that New Haw is in the top ten of primary schools in Surrey for the number of children reaching the expected standard in reading, writing and maths by the end of year 6.  The number of children reaching greater depth is also significantly above the national average.  This fantastic achievement reflects the hard work of all the staff and children, not only in year 6 but across the school.

The progress our children made during their four years with us also put New Haw within the top 20% of schools nationally.  A wonderful achievement!
